Bryan Paolotto was superb between the pipes for the Exeter Hawks, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs. Mt.Brydges' power play was ineffective against Exeter's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Hawks were led by Dylan Bedard, who racked up one goal. Bedard scored 6:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Exeter. Dan Lawson provided the assist. Exeter excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Bulldogs were unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Exeter eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The defensemen of the Hawks were also effective in Mt.Brydges' zone, and came away with two goals. Exeter's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Hawks finished with 40 penalty minutes. Others who scored for Exeter included Wesley McGovern, who had one and Mitch Wild, who had two. More assists for Exeter came via Matthew McLellan, who had two and Kalvin Thornton, Chiristopher Pfaff, Ryan Consitt, and Cam Jude, who contributed one a piece. The Bulldogs did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Mt.Brydges averages 2.6 goals per game. The Bulldogs found themselves short handed often, totaling 44 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. Paolotto recorded 25 saves for Exeter. For the Hawks, Brandon Morrow was ejected from the game. Eric Steinman made 29 saves for Mt.Brydges on 33 shots. The Bulldogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tyler Lockwood was ejected from the game.
