Verasamy nets hat trick, leads Paris to 6-3 win over Ayr

Brandan Verasamy netted a hat trick to lead Paris over the Ayr Centennials, 6-3.

Verasamy's first goal came 6:57 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:29 into the first and at 12:35 into the third.

Paris kept Ayr's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bobby Brown made 28 saves on 34 shots.

Paris also got points from Cole Cummings, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Ian Fowler, who also had one goal and two assists. Jordan Kerr also scored for Paris. More assists for Paris came via Ned Simpson, who had two and Mitchell Harvey, Matthew Small, Kamden Hughes, and Jeff Howlett, who each chipped in one.

The Centennials' offense operated below they season average. Ayr puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game. The Centennials were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 34 penalty minutes. Ayr was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of nine man advantages.

The Centennials were helped by Alex Mutton, who registered one goal. Mutton scored on the power play 15:40 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Ayr had gotten the advantage when Paris' Howlett was sent off for kneeing. Zack Taylor assisted on the tally. Ayr also got a goal from Hunter Moore as well. In addition, Ayr received assists from Brandon Christopher, Declan Kaster, and Alex Richard, who contributed one a piece.

Andrew Masters rejected 24 shots on goal for Paris. Paris incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
