Huge game by Rhyno boosts Dorchester over Simcoe, 8-5

Behind a great game by Shayne Rhyno, who had two goals and two assists, the Dorchester Dolphins defeated Simcoe, 8-5.

Rhyno found the back of the net 1:11 into the third period to make the score 5-1 Dorchester and again while on the power play 7:46 into the third to make the score 7-3 Dorchester.

Dorchester forced Simcoe's goalies to work between the pipes, taking 54 shots and forcing 46 saves. Nick Trask made 23 stops and Alex Gegeny made 23. The Dolphins found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Dorchester averages 5.0 goals per game.

Dorchester also got points from Matt Cormier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Liam Gillooly, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Dorchester also got a goal from Jordan Fuller as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Matt Johnson and Brady Veroughstraete, who contributed one a piece and Tyler Blue and Brendon O Shaughnessy, who each chipped in two.

Simcoe forced the Dolphins goalie Alex Hutcheson to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Simcoe was helped by Kennan Hall, who racked up one goal and one assist. Hall scored on the power play 6:11 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Simcoe earned a power play opportunity when Veroughstraete was put in the box for high sticking. Braedan Walker provided the assist. Simcoe additionally got points from Brett Lewis, who also had one goal and one assist. Clayton Chalmers also scored for Simcoe.

Alex Hutcheson made 33 saves for Dorchester on 38 shots. The Dolphins incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Simcoe incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
