Burford's Vandenbussche deadly on offense in 9-3 win against Norfolk

Tyler Vandenbussche had four goals to lead the Burford Bulldogs to a 9-3 victory over the Norfolk Rebels.

Vandenbussche notched his first tally 18:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:36 into the second, at 2:18 into the third, and at 16:58 into the third.

Burford stifled Norfolk's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rebels were unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Burford eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Burford also got points from Kyle Chaney, who also had one goal and three assists and Jeff Chulo, who also finished with one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Burford also got a goal from Tyler MacLaughlin as well. More assists for Burford came via Justin Garner, Guy Polillo, Tommy Smith, Peter Janeck, and Jim Salatas, who contributed one a piece and Nick Longhurst and Adam Harris, who each chipped in two.

Norfolk put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bulldogs to score on any of their three power plays.

The Rebels were helped by Andrew Patenaude, who grabbed one goal. Patenaude scored 1:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Norfolk. Joshua Slegers picked up the assist. Michael Almas also scored for Norfolk. In addition, Norfolk received assists from Steve Parker, Nate Parker, Kevin Mummery, and Dylan Heaslip, who contributed one a piece.

Garner rejected 18 shots on goal for Burford. The Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Alex Tipping recorded 32 saves for Norfolk. The Rebels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
