The Mooretown Flags used a three-goal second period to put away the Wheatley Sharks, 6-1. Mooretown's Brandon Johnson was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 33 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Johnson will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.8. The Flags were led by Dan Lumley, who had one goal. Lumley scored 15:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Mooretown. Matt Brandon assisted on the tally. Mooretown forced Sharks' goaltenders to work in net, ripping 31 shots and forcing 25 saves. Nick Keeler made 18 stops and Marc Tremblay made seven. The Flags surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Mooretown averages 3.5 goals per contest. The Flags got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
