The Dresden Kings' Macks Holmes scored 4:22 into overtime to beat the Belle River Canadiens, 2-1 (OT). Holmes was all over the ice for Dresden, as he had two goals in the win. The Kings' Brent Paxton was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 31 saves and let only one puck past him. Paxton certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.32 entering the contest. More assists for Dresden came via Alex Ritchie, who had two and Taylor Sisson and Wade Esselman, who contributed one a piece. Belle River stifled Dresden's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Canadiens did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Belle River puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. The Canadiens' offense rang up 32 shots on the Kings' net. Belle River was led by Richard Dunning, who scored the team's only goal. Dunning scored 13:21 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Belle River. Dresden incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Zakk Olvin rejected 26 shots on goal for the Canadiens. Belle River incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
