Dylan Mertz tallied one point to lead the Dresden Kings to a 3-1 victory over the Kingsville Comets. Dresden forced Kingsville goalie Lane Parent to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Dresden also got a goal from Keith Maisonville as well. More assists for Dresden came via Kevin Ritzer, John Montgomery, Taylor Sisson, Cody McPhail, and Macks Holmes, who each chipped in one. The Comets were led by Mark Fratarcangeli, who scored the team's only goal. Fratarcangeli scored 6:10 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kingsville. Daniel Beaudion picked up the assist. The Kings' Brent Paxton stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Dresden avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of two power plays. Parent recorded 28 saves for Kingsville. The Comets incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities.
