Berg leads Alvinston over Mooretown, 6-2Mooretown Rink 1 Sat, Dec 22, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Karsten Berg was all over the ice for the Alvinston Flyers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Alvinston's 6-2 win over the Mooretown Flags. Berg scored at 3:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alvinston and again while 5:53 into the third to make the score 5-2 Alvinston.The Flyers' offense rang up 32 shots on Mooretown's net. Alvinston additionally got points from Cody Perriam, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Josh Moore, who also registered one goal and two assists. Dylan Lightfoot also scored for Alvinston. More assists for Alvinston came via Dan Warner, Joe Archer, Jake McPhail, Ryan Fraser, and Kirk Dorman, who contributed one a piece. The Flags' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Alvinston power plays. Alvinston was unable to stop Mooretown from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flags eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Mooretown was helped by Travis Mullen, who had one goal. Mullen scored 23 seconds into the third period to make the score 4-2 Alvinston. Jeff Schroeter assisted on the tally. Mooretown also got a goal from Riley Roberts as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mooretown were Caden Fleming, who had one. Brad Jacklin rejected 30 shots on goal for the Flyers. Alvinston incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Brandon Johnson recorded 26 saves for the Flags. Mooretown incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
