Riley Babkirk lifted the Wheatley Sharks to a 7-2 victory with a hat trick against the Kingsville Comets.

Babkirk got on the scoresheet 15:13 into the second period. He then added goals at 1:48 into the third and at 17:35 into the third.

Wheatley's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Kingsville power plays. The Sharks forced Kingsville goalie Lane Parent to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Wheatley surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Sharks average 3.5 goals per game.

Wheatley additionally got points from Sebastian Kanally, who also had one goal and one assist and Jon Woelk, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Craig Adamson also scored for Wheatley. More assists for Wheatley came via Luke Gagnon, who had two, Kyle Quick, who had three, and Kurtis Ouellette and Brian Johnson, who contributed one a piece.

The Comets were led by Frank Desjardin, who tallied one goal. Desjardin scored 18:17 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Wheatley. Kyle Morand assisted on the tally. Kingsville also got a goal from Mark Fratarcangeli as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingsville were Ryan Desjarlais, Daniel Beaudion, and Justin Parker, who each chipped in one.

Wheatley's Nick Keeler stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Sharks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Parent recorded 32 saves for Kingsville. The Comets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
