Dresden wins tough contest against Kingsville, 4-2GLJHL Head Office Fri, Dec 21, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Dresden Kings and the Kingsville Comets was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Dresden emerged with a 4-2 win. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Alex Ritchie at 8:07 of the third period. Kingsville's power play was ineffective against the Kings' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Dresden was led by Ritchie, who registered one goal. The Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Kingsville power plays. Dresden additionally got points from Jeremy Griffore, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dresden also got a goal from Josh Beatty as well. More assists for Dresden came via Josh Clements, John Montgomery, Dylan Mertz, and Cody McPhail, who each chipped in one. The Comets were helped by Mark Fratarcangeli, who had one goal. Fratarcangeli scored 9:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kingsville. Daniel Beaudion assisted on the tally. Tyler Morand also scored for Kingsville. Other players who recorded assists for Kingsville were Kyle Morand, Mark Sobocan, and Ryan Desjarlais, who contributed one a piece. Brent Paxton made 28 saves for Dresden on 30 shots. The Kings incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Dresden, Johnathan Derynck was ejected from the game. Lane Parent rejected 25 shots on goal for Kingsville. The Comets incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
