Joel Sowinski had a standout game with 45 saves, and the Wallaceburg Lakers beat the Kingsville Comets 2-1.

Wallaceburg was paced by Joe Daly, who racked up one goal. Daly scored 17:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wallaceburg. Lucais Meyskens provided the assist.

The Lakers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Justin Whitson also scored for Wallaceburg. In addition, Wallaceburg received assists from Brennan Rainey and Jeff Nolfo, who each chipped in one.

Kingsville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Wallaceburg power plays. Wallaceburg was unable to stop the Comets from sending pucks towards the net, and Kingsville eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

The Comets were led by Robert Jardine, who scored the team's only goal. Jardine scored 13:51 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kingsville. Frank Desjardin picked up the assist.

The Lakers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Kingsville's Marcus Rees stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Comets incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
