Alvinston downs Blenheim, 6-2Brooke Alvinston Inwood CC Fri, Dec 07, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Dylan Lightfoot grabbed one point to lead the Alvinston Flyers to a 6-2 victory over the Blenheim Blades. Alvinston put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Blenheim to score on any of its four power plays. The Flyers' offense rang up 31 shots on the Blades' net. Alvinston additionally got points from Braden Brasso, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Alvinston also had goals scored by Josh Moore, who had two and Dawson Elviage and Chad Vaneyk, who scored one goal each. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Troy Whitely, who had two and Matt Carroll, Tyler Kettler, Cody Perriam, Ryan Fraser, Kirk Dorman, and Kole Keating, who contributed one a piece. Blenheim excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Blades were helped by Zack Horvath, who registered one goal. Horvath scored 18:18 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Alvinston. Aaron Pastorius provided the assist. Blenheim also got a goal from Zach Mailloux as well. Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were Taylor Phillips, Tyler Clarke, and Kirk McKillop, who each chipped in one. James Morreau made 26 saves for Alvinston on 28 shots. The Flyers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dylan Vanderpol recorded 25 saves for Blenheim. The Blades incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
