Paxton stymies Belle River, Dresden wins 4-1GLJHL Head Office Wed, Dec 05, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dresden Kings relied on the sparkling performance of Brent Paxton in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Belle River Canadiens. Dresden was led by Derek Daly, who grabbed one goal. Daly scored 8:22 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Dresden. Macks Holmes assisted on the tally. Dresden also got points from Holmes, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dresden also got a goal from Derek VanEvery as well. In addition, Dresden received assists from Taylor Sisson, Jeremy Griffore, Cam Ross, Andrew France, and Alex Ritchie, who each chipped in one. Belle River managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Canadiens wound up below its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Belle River was held below its usual level of production. The Canadiens put an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game. The Kings were unable to stop Belle River from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadiens eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Belle River was led by Brenden Crundwell, who scored the team's only goal. Crundwell scored 8:38 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brent Paxton made 32 saves for Dresden on 33 shots. The Kings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Zakk Olvin rejected 17 shots on goal for the Canadiens. Belle River registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
