Blenheim beats Kingsville 4-3 after comeback scareKingsville Arena Sat, Dec 01, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kingsville Comets tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Blenheim Blades held on for a 4-3 victory. A goal by Zack Horvath put Blenheim up 3-1 in the third period, but Kingsville pulled to within one on Daniel Beaudion's tally 6:47 into the third period. The Blades pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 52 penalty minutes. Blenheim's penalty kill managed to stymie the Comets' power play, giving up only one goal while playing with a man down. The Blades were helped by Cam Aitken, who had one goal. Aitken scored 13:05 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Blenheim. Aaron Pastorius provided the assist. Blenheim also got points from Zach Mailloux, who also registered one goal and one assist and Horvath, who also had one goal and one assist. Justin Rossignol also scored for Blenheim. In addition, Blenheim received assists from Owen Bateman, who had one. Kingsville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Blenheim to score on any of its six power plays. The Comets' offense rang up 36 shots on the Blades' net. Kingsville additionally got points from Ryan Desjarlais, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Kingsville also got a goal from Tyler Kirby as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingsville were Adam Minovski, who had two and Andy Britton and Justin Parker, who contributed one a piece. Dylan Vanderpol rejected 33 shots on goal for Blenheim. Marcus Rees made 20 saves for Kingsville on 24 shots. The Comets incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
