The Belle River Canadiens tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Alvinston Flyers held on for a 5-3 victory. A goal by Kirk Dorman put Alvinston up 5-2 in the third period, but Belle River pulled to within two on Matthew Couloufis' tally 19:54 into the third period. The Flyers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Alvinston wound up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. The Flyers forced the Canadiens goalie Zakk Olvin to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Alvinston was helped by Chad Vaneyk, who had one goal. Vaneyk scored 11:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alvinston. Tyler Kettler assisted on the tally. Alvinston additionally got points from Kettler, who also registered one goal and one assist and Karsten Berg, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Dylan Lightfoot also scored for Alvinston. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Clint Rose, who had two and Matt Carroll, Joe Archer, and Brad Jacklin, who each chipped in one. Belle River kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacklin made 32 saves on 35 shots. The Canadiens' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.
