Jordan Ryan had one point to lead the Essex 73s to a 3-1 victory over the Mooretown Flags.

Essex forced Mooretown goalie Brandon Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Corey Beaulieu also scored for Essex. More assists for Essex came via Aaron Thibert, Zack Miletic, and Ryan Muzzin, who each chipped in one.

The Flags could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Mooretown puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

The Flags were led by Jeff Schroeter, who scored the team's only goal. Schroeter scored on the power play 1:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mooretown. Mooretown earned a power play opportunity when Miletic was put in the box for tripping. Mike Burns assisted on the tally.

Arren Romeril made 20 saves for the 73s on 21 shots. Essex incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Johnson recorded 35 saves for the Flags. Mooretown incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
