Olvin stymies Kingsville, Belle River wins 4-1Kingsville Arena Sat, Nov 24, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Belle River Canadiens relied on the sparkling performance of Zakk Olvin in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Kingsville Comets. Belle River was sparked by Mark Manchurek, who had one goal. Manchurek scored 16:13 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Belle River. Chris DiNatale provided the assist. The Canadiens put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kingsville to score on any of its four power plays. The Comets were unable to stop Belle River from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadiens eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Donnovan Plummer also scored for Belle River. In addition, Belle River received assists from Mike Ditty, who had three and Jason Clarke, Richard Dunning, and Josh Synnott, who contributed one a piece. Kingsville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Comets forced Belle River goalie Olvin to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Kingsville was led by Ryan Desjarlais, who scored the team's only goal. Desjarlais scored 1:21 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Belle River. Daniel Beaudion picked up the assist. Olvin rejected 30 shots on goal for the Canadiens. Belle River incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Marcus Rees recorded 32 saves for the Comets. Kingsville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
