Behind a great game by Tyler Kettler, who had one goal and two assists, the Alvinston Flyers defeated the Wallaceburg Lakers, 5-2. Kettler scored on the power play 40 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-2 Alvinston. Clint Rose provided the assist. Kettler dished an assist on Chad Vaneyk's goal that made the score 2-2 at 14:05 into the first period. He added another helper on Jake McPhail's goal that made the score 4-2 Alvinston at 8:11 into the second period.Alvinston additionally got points from McPhail, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Vaneyk, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Alvinston also got a goal from Kole Keating as well. More assists for Alvinston came via Troy Whitely, who had one and Karsten Berg, who had two. Wallaceburg struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for 10 opposing power plays. The Lakers were helped by Kody Ryan, who racked up one goal. Ryan scored on the power play 10:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Wallaceburg had gained a power play chance when Ryan Fraser was whistled for head contact. Jeff Nolfo assisted on the tally. Jordan Eagan also scored for Wallaceburg. In addition, Wallaceburg received assists from Robert Towsley and Sam Jasmin, who contributed one a piece. James Morreau made 20 saves for Alvinston on 22 shots. The Flyers incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Joel Sowinski rejected 22 shots on goal for the Lakers. Wallaceburg registered one goal on five power play opportunities. The Lakers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Lucais Meyskens was ejected from the game.
