Huge game by Kettler boosts Alvinston over North Middlesex, 10-3

The Alvinston Flyers' Tyler Kettler had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing four assists in his team's 10-3 win over the North Middlesex Stars.

Kettler's tallies came at 7:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alvinston and 24 seconds into the second to make the score 4-1 Alvinston.

Alvinston forced North Middlesex's goalies to work all game long, racking up 38 shots and forcing 28 saves. Alex Foster made 15 stops and Ryan Swartzentruber made 13. The Flyers' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Alvinston averages 4.0 goals per contest. The Flyers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Alvinston additionally got points from Cody Perriam, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Kole Keating, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Chad Vaneyk, who also registered one goal and three assists. Alvinston also had goals scored by Dylan Lightfoot, who had one and Karsten Berg and Ryan Fraser, who each put in two. More assists for Alvinston came via Clint Rose, who had two and Matt Laberge and Dawson Elviage, who contributed one a piece.

The Stars were helped by Cody Wuytenburg, who had one goal. Wuytenburg scored on the power play 9:16 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Alvinston. North Middlesex had taken the advantage when Alvinston's Kyle Cutler got sent off for slashing. Mike Sharpe picked up the assist. North Middlesex also got points from Tommy Prokes, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jake Alkins also scored for North Middlesex. Other players who recorded assists for North Middlesex were Zak MacNaught and Jeremy Vandeven, who each chipped in one.

Brad Jacklin rejected 17 shots on goal for the Flyers. Alvinston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Stars incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
