Levesque leads Belle River over Wallaceburg, 6-2

Guy Levesque was all over the ice for the Belle River Canadiens, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Belle River's 6-2 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Levesque found the back of the net 19:19 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Belle River and again while 19:46 into the second to make the score 4-1 Belle River.

The Canadiens' penalty kill excelled, as Belle River gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Canadiens stifled Wallaceburg's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Belle River forced the Lakers goalie Devine Cove to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Belle River also got points from Branden Larocque, who also finished with one goal and one assist and James Shelton, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Chris DiNatale also scored for Belle River. More assists for Belle River came via Mike Ditty, who had two, Richard Dunning, who had three, and Derek Haskell, Donnovan Plummer, and Mark Manchurek, who contributed one a piece.

Wallaceburg was helped by Jeff Nolfo, who tallied one goal and one assist. Nolfo scored 18:42 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Belle River. Sam Jasmin assisted on the tally. Wallaceburg also got a goal from Kody Ryan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wallaceburg were Joe Allison, who had one.

Brandon Cowell made 25 saves for the Canadiens on 27 shots. Belle River incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Canadiens ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jordan Taylor was ejected from the game. Cove rejected 36 shots on goal for the Lakers. Wallaceburg incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
