Dresden boosted by Paxton's play in net, beats Mooretown 5-1

The Dresden Kings relied on the sparkling performance of Brent Paxton in net to grab a 5-1 win against the Mooretown Flags.

Mooretown's power play was ineffective against Dresden's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Kings were sparked by Taylor Sisson, who tallied one goal. Sisson scored 18:50 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dresden.

Jesse Allen also scored for Dresden. Other players who recorded assists for Dresden were Dylan Mertz, who had three and Jeremy Griffore, Cody McPhail, and Alex Schmidt, who each chipped in one.

The Flags could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Mooretown averages 3.4 goals per game.

Brent Paxton made 27 saves for Dresden on 28 shots. The Kings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Braden Palocz took the loss and made 10 saves before being replaced by Brandon Johnson who made nine saves. The Flags incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Mooretown, Jeff Sit was ejected from the game.
