Mullen's goals lift Mooretown to 5-2 victory over Blenheim

Travis Mullen was all over the ice for the Mooretown Flags, as he tallied two goals in Mooretown's 5-2 win over the Blenheim Blades.

Mullen's tallies came on the power play at 15:02 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and on the power play 11:52 into the second to make the score 3-1 Mooretown.

The Flags' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Blenheim power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Mooretown additionally got points from Jeff Schroeter, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Mooretown also got a goal from McGregor Haddon as well. In addition, Mooretown received assists from Mike Burns, who had three and Cody Hardman, Riley Roberts, Matt Brandon, and Dan Lumley, who each chipped in one.

Blenheim kept Mooretown's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Johnson made 32 saves on 34 shots.

The Blades were helped by Tyler Clarke, who registered one goal. Clarke scored 13:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Blenheim. Aidan Wiebenga picked up the assist. Zach Mailloux also scored for Blenheim. More assists for Blenheim came via Ryan Frizzell, Kirk McKillop, and Dylan Vanderpol, who contributed one a piece.

The Flags incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dylan Vanderpol made 18 saves for Blenheim on 23 shots. The Blades incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
