Blenheim squeaks by Wallaceburg, 4-3

The game between the Blenheim Blades and the Wallaceburg Lakers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Blenheim emerged with a 4-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Ryan Frizzell secured the win for the Blades with a goal in the third period.

Blenheim was led by Frizzell, who tallied one goal. Frizzell scored 17:14 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Blenheim. Aaron Pastorius assisted on the tally.

In the losing effort, Wallaceburg was led by Jeff Nolfo, who registered two goals. Nolfo scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:11 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Lakers earned a power play opportunity when John McKillop was put in the box for high sticking. Bobby Domin provided the assist. Nolfo's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 13:41 left in the second period. Wallaceburg had taken the advantage when the Blades' Kirk McKillop got sent off for tripping. Sam Jasmin picked up the assist.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Blenheim also got a goal from Owen Bateman as well. Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were Aidan Wiebenga, who had one and Cam Aitken, who had two.

Justin Whitson also scored for Wallaceburg. More assists for Wallaceburg came via Barry Braun, who had one.

Dylan Vanderpol recorded 24 saves for Blenheim. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Lakers' Devine Cove stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Wallaceburg incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
