Essex outlasts Alvinston, 5-3

The Essex 73s gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Alvinston Flyers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Scott Bromley secured the win for Essex with a goal in the third period.

Jordan Ryan was all over the ice for the 73s, as he had two goals in the win. Ryan found the back of the net 21 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Essex and again while 14:35 into the third to make the score 5-3 Essex.

Essex's offense rang up 43 shots on Alvinston's net.

Essex also got points from Bromley, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Dylan Solecki, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Essex also got a goal from Matthew Hebert as well. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Kevin Boggs, Tyler Raymont, Aaron Thibert, and Curtis Prymack, who each chipped in one and Corey Beaulieu and Adam Dunmore, who contributed two a piece.

The Flyers were helped by Kirk Dorman, who tallied one goal. Dorman scored 50 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-3. Cody Perriam also scored for Alvinston. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Davis Triest, Joe Archer, Braden Brasso, and Josh Moore, who each chipped in one.

Trevor Wheaton rejected 21 shots on goal for the 73s. Essex incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Alvinston's James Morreau stopped 38 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
