Belle River outlasts Essex, 6-4

The game between the Belle River Canadiens and the Essex 73s was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Belle River emerged with a 6-4 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jason Clarke secured the win for the Canadiens with a goal in the third period.

Belle River was paced by Clarke, who racked up one goal and one assist. Clarke scored 10:43 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Belle River. Derek Haskell picked up the assist.

The Canadiens racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and one major for 47 minutes in penalty time. Belle River had been averaging 24.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Canadiens' offense rang up 32 shots on Essex's net.

Belle River additionally got points from Billy Eansor, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Mike Ditty, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Donnovan Plummer also scored for Belle River. More assists for Belle River came via Branden Larocque, James Shelton, Chris DiNatale, and Richard Dunning, who contributed one a piece.
