Essex downs Mooretown in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Tyler Raymont gave the Essex 73s a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Mooretown Flags when he scored 1:24 into the extra period.

Essex came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The 73s was down 3-1 after a goal by Mooretown's Dan Hachey at 9:21 in the second period. Essex knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Alex Garon at 14:05 in the third period.

The 73s were led by Raymont, who tallied one goal.

Essex kept the Flags' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Johnson made 39 saves on 43 shots.

Essex additionally got points from Jordan Brohman, who also had one goal and one assist and Garon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Phil Janikowski also scored for Essex. Other players who recorded assists for Essex were Corey Beaulieu, Colin Moore, and Mac Laforest, who each chipped in one.

Mooretown was helped by Jeff Schroeter, who registered one goal. Schroeter scored on the power play 15:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mooretown. The Flags had gotten the advantage when the 73s' Dylan Solecki was sent off for roughing. Dan Lumley picked up the assist. Mooretown also got a goal from McGregor Haddon as well. More assists for Mooretown came via Mike Burns, Travis Mullen, and Adam Hayes, who contributed one a piece.

Arren Romeril rejected 14 shots on goal for Essex. The 73s totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Essex ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Scott Bromley was ejected from the game. Mooretown incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
