Belle River downs Wheatley, 3-1

Derek Haskell had one point to lead the Belle River Canadiens to a 3-1 victory over the Wheatley Sharks.

Belle River was held below its usual level of production. The Canadiens put an average of 5.4 pucks into the net per game. Belle River's offense rang up 40 shots on Wheatley's net.

Belle River additionally got points from Mark Manchurek, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Branden Larocque also scored for Belle River. Other players who recorded assists for Belle River were Chris DiNatale, who had two and Jordan Taylor, Donnovan Plummer, and Richard Dunning, who contributed one a piece.

The Sharks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Wheatley was led by Luke Gagnon, who scored the team's only goal. Gagnon scored 9:51 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brendon Anger assisted on the tally.

Zakk Olvin recorded 18 saves for the Canadiens. Belle River incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Marc Tremblay made 37 saves for the Sharks on 40 shots. Wheatley incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
