The Kingsville Comets tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Wallaceburg Lakers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4. Wallaceburg took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have Kingsville storm back on a Daniel Beaudion goal 3:56 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Lakers got the win thanks to a great game by Jake Carter, who had two goals and one assist. Carter scored the first of his two goals at 1:41 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Kingsville. Carter's next tally made the score Wallaceburg with 19:07 left in the third period. Sam Jasmin assisted on the tally. Wallaceburg stifled the Comets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lakers kept Kingsville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan Crankshaw made 27 saves on 32 shots. Wallaceburg bested its season scoring average. This season, the Lakers average 2.3 goals per contest. Wallaceburg was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes. Wallaceburg additionally got points from Jasmin, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Wallaceburg also got a goal from Mike Myers as well. More assists for Wallaceburg came via Kody Ryan, who had two and Jeff Morey, Kyle Jacobson, and Justin Whitson, who contributed one a piece. The Comets forced the Lakers goalie Devine Cove to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Mark Sobocan also scored for Kingsville. Other players who recorded assists for Kingsville were Robert Jardine, who had one and Ryan Jones and Justin Parker, who contributed two a piece. Wallaceburg's Cove stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Lakers registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Kingsville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
