Huge game by Moore boosts Little Britain over Georgina, 7-2

Behind a great game by Kurtis Moore, who had two goals and one assist, the Little Britain Merchants defeated the Georgina Ice, 7-2.

Moore's tallies came at 2:29 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Little Britain and 19:22 into the third to make the score 7-2 Little Britain.

Little Britain's offense rang up 31 shots on Georgina's net. The Merchants surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Little Britain averages 2.8 goals per contest.

Little Britain also had goals scored by Curtis Lee, who had one and Nate Huhges and Quincy McIvor, who each put in two. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Scott Mcguire, Mac Beaton, Ryan Moser, and Cash Cormier, who each chipped in one.

The Ice excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Georgina could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Ice were led by Luke Vanderkooy, who finished with one goal and one assist. Vanderkooy scored 18:19 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Little Britain. Tanner Allen provided the assist. Devon Smith also scored for Georgina. In addition, Georgina received assists from Dylan Kovacs and Jake Burford, who contributed one a piece.

Neil Pittock recorded 18 saves for the Merchants. Little Britain incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Georgina's Jake Francis stopped 24 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Ice registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Georgina ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Curtis Puhalski was ejected from the game.
