Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Georgina Ice defeated the Little Britain Merchants in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO). The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. Little Britain's shootout goal was scored by Quincy McIvor. In addition to the clincher, Georgina got a shootout goal from Scott Sandercock.The Merchants' power play was ineffective against the Ice's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Georgina was sparked by Cam Russel, who finished with one goal. Russel scored 2:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgina. JP Contento assisted on the tally. The Ice's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Little Britain power plays. Georgina additionally got points from Sandercock, who also had one goal and one assist and Contento, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jason Bianie also scored for Georgina. In addition, Georgina received assists from Brendan Anderson, Dylan Kovacs, and AJ Killens, who contributed one a piece. Little Britain was led by Kurtis Moore, who tallied one goal and two assists. Moore scored 15:05 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Paul Hennessey picked up the assist. Little Britain also got a goal from Mitch Berzins as well. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Cam Palmer, Chad Lindsay, and Ryan Moser, who each chipped in one. Georgina incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Merchants incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
