Little Britain survives Port Perry comeback, wins 5-3Little Britain Sat, Jan 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Perry Mojacks almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Little Britain Merchants managed to pull out a 5-3 win in the end. Little Britain led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Merchants' Kurtis Moore's scored at 3:52 in the second period to put Little Britain up 4-1. Moore had two goals to lead the Merchants to victory. Port Perry's power play was ineffective against Little Britain's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Merchants put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Mojacks to score on any of their six power plays. Little Britain outdid its season average for goals scored. The Merchants average 2.6 goals per game. Little Britain could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game. Little Britain also got a goal from Cam Palmer as well. More assists for Little Britain came via Cash Cormier, who had two and Chad Lindsay, stuart fierheller, and Mac Beaton, who contributed one a piece. Port Perry excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Mojacks were helped by Brodie Meyers, who tallied one goal. Meyers scored 1:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Matt Murray picked up the assist. Lee Taylor also scored for Port Perry. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Joe Lamanna, Lucas Berkers, Logan Evans, and Conner Shingler, who each chipped in one. The Merchants' Neil Pittock stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Jeff Julien made 14 saves for Port Perry on 19 shots. The Mojacks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
