Julien, Port Perry blank Clarington, 1-0Garnet B. Rickard Rec Complex Wed, Jan 16, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Jeff Julien was superb between the pipes for the Port Perry Mojacks, as he did not allow a goal in a 1-0 victory over the Clarington Eagles. Matt Murray's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 19:59 in the second period. A holding penalty on Brad Down had put Port Perry on the power play. Matt Paul provided the assist. The Mojacks were led by Murray, who finished with one goal. Port Perry put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Clarington to score on any of its five power plays. The Mojacks were held below their usual level of production. Port Perry averages 3.4 goals per game. The Eagles did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Clarington puts an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game. The Eagles kept the Mojacks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Julien made 32 saves on 32 shots. Port Perry incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brandon Green recorded 25 saves for Clarington. The Eagles incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
