Georgina falters on penalty kill, loses to Port Perry 7-1Scugog Memorial Arena Sun, Jan 06, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgina Ice fell victim to the Port Perry Mojacks' four power play goals en route to a 7-1 loss. Port Perry was paced by Matt Murray, who racked up one goal and one assist. Murray scored on the power play 13:35 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Perry. The Mojacks had gained a power play chance when Jesse Johnston was whistled for cross checking. Nick Clark assisted on the tally. Port Perry forced Ice's goaltenders to work without much rest, totaling 32 shots and forcing 25 saves. Jake Francis made 16 stops and Michael Chilvers made nine. The Mojacks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Georgina power plays. Port Perry bested its season scoring average.
