Clarington blows out Port Perry, 4-1Scugog Memorial Arena Sun, Dec 30, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Clarington Eagles were firing on all cylinders against the Port Perry Mojacks, and when the final buzzer sounded Eagles emerged with a 4-1 win. Clarington pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 52 penalty minutes. The Eagles were sparked by Brent Hambly, who finished with one goal and one assist. Hambly scored 9:20 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Clarington. Mitchell Marchbank assisted on the tally. Clarington put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Port Perry to score on any of its 11 power plays. Clarington also got a goal from Blane Gaudon as well. Other players who recorded assists for Clarington were Jake Choiniere, Collin McGillis, and Dan Michel, who contributed one a piece. The Mojacks were held below their usual level of production. Port Perry averages 3.4 goals per game. The Mojacks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game. Port Perry was led by Dakota Watson, who scored the team's only goal. Watson scored 6:15 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Lucas Berkers picked up the assist. The Eagles' Brandon Green stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Clarington registered two goals on 10 power play opportunities. Drew Siydock rejected 19 shots on goal for the Mojacks.
