Clarington rips Port Perry, 4-1

The Port Perry Mojacks had trouble finding ways to stop the Clarington Eagles, which beat Mojacks, 4-1.

Clarington was led by goalie Brandon Green, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Green certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.57 entering the contest.

The Eagles' penalty kill excelled, as Clarington gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays.

The Eagles stifled Port Perry's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Clarington could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Eagles were helped by Brad Down, who registered one goal and one assist. Down scored on the power play 10:18 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Clarington. Clarington had gotten the advantage when the Mojacks' Logan Evans was sent off for cross checking. Jake Choiniere provided the assist. Others who scored for Clarington included Rory Craddock, who had one and Cody Kean, who had two. In addition, Clarington received assists from Graham Snoek, who had two and Mitchell Marchbank, Courtland Black-Araujo, and Brandon Hesson, who contributed one a piece.

Port Perry did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Mojacks put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Port Perry's offense rang up 31 shots on the Eagles' net.

Clarington registered two goals on four power play opportunities. The Eagles ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Hesson was ejected from the game. Jeff Julien rejected 24 shots on goal for the Mojacks. Port Perry incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
