Port Perry beats Little Britain 3-0 as Julien gains shutout

Jeff Julien made 26 saves to complete the shutout and led the Port Perry Mojacks to a 3-0 win against the Little Britain Merchants.

Joe Lamanna had two goals to lead Port Perry to victory. Lamanna scored short handed at 4:14 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry and again while 17:09 into the third to make the score 3-0 Port Perry.

The Mojacks' penalty kill excelled, as Port Perry gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Mojacks stifled Little Britain's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Port Perry's offense rang up 31 shots on the Merchants' net. The Mojacks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Port Perry also got a goal from Matt Murray as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Kyler Challis and Lee Taylor, who each chipped in one.

Little Britain was held below its usual level of production. The Merchants average 2.8 goals per game. Little Britain was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

Port Perry incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Neil Pittock rejected 28 shots on goal for the Merchants.
