Georgina outlasts Clarington, 4-3Georgina Ice Palace Fri, Dec 21, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Georgina Ice escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Clarington Eagles. Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Jason Bianie's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. Bianie was all over the ice for Georgina, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Bianie scored the first of his two goals at 3:48 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tanner Allen provided the assist. Bianie's next tally made the score 4-3 Georgina with 8:49 left in the third period. Scott Sandercock assisted on the tally. The Ice's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Clarington power plays. The defensemen of Georgina were also effective in Clarington's zone, and came away with two goals. Georgina also got points from Sandercock, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Cam Russel also scored for Georgina. Other players who recorded assists for Georgina were Dylan Kovacs, AJ Killens, and Luke Vanderkooy, who each chipped in one. The Eagles put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Ice to score on any of their five power plays. Clarington was led by Brad Down, who registered one goal and one assist. Down scored 3:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Clarington. Clarington also got a goal from Scott Ferguson as well. More assists for Clarington came via Josh Lucas and Brock Ackerman, who contributed one a piece. Georgina incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Eagles incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
