Uxbridge holds on for 5-4 win against Port PerryScugog Memorial Arena Sun, Dec 16, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Uxbridge Bruins survived a determined comeback attempt by the Port Perry Mojacks on the way to a 5-4 win. A goal by Marco Mastrangelo put Uxbridge up 5-3 in the third period, but Port Perry pulled to within one on Logan Evans' tally 18:09 into the third period. With two goals and four assists between them, Matthew Allen and Mike Ramsey teamed up to power the Bruins' offense. Allen had two goals and Ramsey also added zero goals and four assists. Uxbridge additionally got points from Joey Vocino, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Korey Brand also scored for Uxbridge. More assists for Uxbridge came via Raymond Auld, who had one. The Mojacks' offense rang up 44 shots on Uxbridge's net. Port Perry struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 60 penalty minutes for 12 opposing power plays. Port Perry also got points from Matt Paul, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Port Perry also got a goal from Kyler Challis as well. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Matt Johnston, who had two and Anders Neilsen and Matt Murray, who each chipped in one. The Bruins' Greg Zupan stopped 40 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Uxbridge incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Drew Siydock made 24 saves for the Mojacks on 29 shots. Port Perry registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. The Mojacks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Neilsen was ejected from the game.
