The Clarington Eagles fell behind early, and the Lakefield Chiefs kept piling on the points on the way to a 9-1 victory. Lakefield got the win on the strength of a great game by Jordan Walsh, who had one goal and three assists. Walsh scored 19:39 into the first period to make the score 4-0 Lakefield. Gregory Jesse picked up the assist. The Chiefs forced Eagles' goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots and forcing 30 saves. Nick Keleher made 10 stops and Brandon Green made 20. Lakefield stifled Clarington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Chiefs bested their season scoring average. Lakefield has scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Lakefield additionally got points from Curtis Bolton, who also had one goal and one assist, Ryan Anderson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Jesse, who also registered one goal and one assist, Travis Brault, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Derek Manley, who also had one goal and two assists. Lakefield also had goals scored by Ryan Saunders, who had one and Nathan Larson, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Lakefield were Hayden Lambe, who had one, Tyler Roy, who had two, and Eric Shewell, who had three. The Eagles excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Cody Kean also scored for Clarington. In addition, Clarington received assists from Rory Craddock and Luke Garneau, who each chipped in one. Zach Wainman made 17 saves for the Chiefs on 18 shots. Lakefield incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Clarington incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
