Little Britain uses shootout to best Port Perry, 5-4 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Little Britain Merchants defeated the Port Perry Mojacks in a shootout 5-4 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams.

Little Britain kept Port Perry's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jeff Julien made 26 saves on 31 shots. The Merchants could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Little Britain was helped by Greg ONeil, who had one goal. ONeil scored 9:35 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Little Britain. Tyler Trafford picked up the assist. Little Britain additionally got points from Mark Vasey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Mitch Berzins, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mitch Phinney also scored for Little Britain. More assists for Little Britain came via Kurtis Moore, who had one and Cam Palmer, who had two.

The Mojacks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Merchants to score on any of their three power plays.

Port Perry was led by Conner Shingler, who tallied three goals and one assist. Port Perry also got a goal from Matt Paul as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Anders Neilsen, Brody Anderson, Mike Grifoni, and Brodie Meyers, who contributed one a piece.

Little Britain's Neil Pittock stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Mojacks incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
