Haden stymies Port Perry, Little Britain wins 2-1

Garrett Haden stood on his head and made 33 saves to lead the Little Britain Merchants to a 2-1 victory over the Port Perry Mojacks.

Little Britain was sparked by Mitch Phinney, who racked up one goal. Phinney scored 17:11 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Little Britain. T.J. Doran assisted on the tally.

The Merchants forced Port Perry goalie Drew Siydock to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Kurtis Moore also scored for Little Britain. More assists for Little Britain came via Cam Palmer, Nate Huhges, and Cash Cormier, who contributed one a piece.

The Mojacks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Little Britain to score on any of its four power plays. Port Perry was held below its usual level of production. The Mojacks average 4.1 goals per game. Port Perry's offense rang up 34 shots on the Merchants' net.

The Mojacks were led by Ryan Nichols, who scored the team's only goal. Nichols scored on the power play 4:18 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Port Perry. Port Perry had gotten the advantage when Little Britain's Ryan Moser was sent off for high sticking. Conner Shingler provided the assist.

The Merchants incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Siydock recorded 31 saves for the Mojacks. Port Perry incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Mojacks, Logan Evans was ejected from the game.
