Lakefield rips Little Britain, 5-2Lakefield-Smith CC Tue, Nov 06, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Little Britain Merchants had trouble finding ways to stop the Lakefield Chiefs, which beat Merchants, 5-2. Derek Manley was all over the ice for Lakefield, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Manley scored the first of his two goals at 8:04 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Lakefield. Matt Perras provided the assist. Manley's next tally made the score 5-2 Lakefield with 14:32 left in the third period. Jordan Walsh assisted on the tally. The Chiefs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Little Britain power plays. Lakefield forced Little Britain goalie Garrett Haden to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Lakefield also got points from Riley Campbell, who also had one goal and one assist and Perras, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Travis Brault also scored for Lakefield. More assists for Lakefield came via Eric Shewell and Keenan Runnalis, who each chipped in one. The Merchants could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. Little Britain was helped by Greg ONeil, who registered one goal. ONeil scored 11:34 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lakefield. Tyler Trafford provided the assist. Little Britain also got a goal from Kurtis Moore as well. In addition, Little Britain received assists from stuart fierheller, who had one. Dustin Cook made 26 saves for the Chiefs on 28 shots. Lakefield incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Haden rejected 32 shots on goal for the Merchants. |
