Derek Manley had two goals and one assist to lead the Lakefield Chiefs to a 5-1 victory over the Clarington Eagles. Manley scored at 5:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lakefield and again while short handed 18:07 into the second to make the score 4-0 Lakefield.Lakefield's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Clarington power plays. The Chiefs forced Clarington goalie Nick Keleher to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Matt Perras also scored for Lakefield. More assists for Lakefield came via Eric Shewell, Keenan Runnalis, and Nathan Larson, who contributed one a piece. The Eagles could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Clarington averages 3.1 goals per game. The Eagles found themselves short handed often, totaling 24 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays. Lakefield's Zach Wainman stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Chiefs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Keleher recorded 31 saves for Clarington.
