Jordan Walsh netted a hat trick to lead the Lakefield Chiefs over the Little Britain Merchants, 5-2. Walsh got on the scoresheet 11:21 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:40 into the first and at 11:11 into the third.Lakefield pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 53 penalty minutes. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:40 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Lakefield additionally got points from Derek Manley, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Eric Shewell also scored for Lakefield. More assists for Lakefield came via Curtis Bolton, Eric Oosting, Ryan Saunders, and Travis Brault, who each chipped in one. Little Britain racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with four minors and three majors for 43 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game the Merchants had been spending in the box. Little Britain was helped by Mitch Berzins, who registered one goal and one assist. Berzins scored on the power play 17:25 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Lakefield. The Merchants had taken the advantage when the Chiefs' Keenan Runnalis got sent off for boarding. Mark Vasey provided the assist. Little Britain also got points from Kurtis Moore, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Lakefield registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Team's Riley Campbell, Dalton Hill, and Tyler Roy were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Little Britain registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For the Merchants, Cam Palmer, Scott Mcguire, and Zach Boice were ejected from the contest.
