Trafford nets hat trick, leads Little Britain to 9-1 win over GeorginaCentral Jr. C Sat, Oct 27, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgina Ice could not stop the Little Britain Merchants' Tyler Trafford, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-1 win. Trafford got on the scoresheet 2:00 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:51 into the third and at 8:30 into the third.Little Britain pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 26 penalty minutes. The Merchants put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Georgina to score on any of its six power plays. Little Britain bested its season scoring average. The Merchants average 3.5 goals per game. Little Britain also got points from Kurtis Moore, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Little Britain also had goals scored by Ryan Hunter, who had two and Mark Vasey, T.J. Doran, and Ryan Moser, who scored one goal each. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Greg ONeil, who had four, stuart fierheller and Paul Hennessey, who each chipped in one, and Mitch Berzins and Zach Boice, who contributed two a piece. The Ice's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Georgina finished with 36 penalty minutes. Little Britain's Neil Pittock stopped 16 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Merchants registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Jamie Thompson rejected 18 shots on goal for the Ice.
