Uxbridge shrugs off penalties, upends Little Britain, 5-2

The Uxbridge Bruins, which found themselves down a man often, weathered the Little Britain Merchants' power play opportunities and emerged with a 5-2 victory.

Uxbridge forced Little Britain goalie Garrett Haden to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots.

The Bruins were led by Mike Ramsey, who tallied one goal and one assist. Ramsey scored on the power play 15:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge. Uxbridge earned a power play opportunity when Paul Hennessey was put in the box for hooking. Steve Doutsis picked up the assist. Others who scored for Uxbridge included Raymond Auld, who had two and Andrew Liboiron and Joey Vocino, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Justin Bean, who had two and Billy McBeth, Callum Lynch, and Dylan Ross, who each chipped in one.

The Merchants' offense rang up 51 shots on the Bruins' net.

Little Britain was helped by Scott Mcguire, who racked up one goal. Mcguire scored on the power play 6:35 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Uxbridge. The Merchants had gained a power play chance when Korey Brand was whistled for interference. Hennessey assisted on the tally. Little Britain also got a goal from Tyler Trafford as well. More assists for Little Britain came via Greg ONeil and Cash Cormier, who contributed one a piece.

Brandon Francey recorded 49 saves for Uxbridge. The Bruins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Little Britain's Haden stopped 46 shots out of the 51 that he faced. The Merchants incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
