Port Perry rolls over Georgina, 7-1Georgina Ice Palace Fri, Oct 05, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Perry Mojacks had a six-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over the Georgina Ice. Georgina was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Port Perry was able to score four times while on the power play. The Mojacks were led by Logan Evans, who grabbed one goal. Evans scored on the power play 17:27 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Port Perry. A slashing penalty on Curtis Puhalski had put Port Perry on the power play. Matt Paul picked up the assist. The Mojacks stifled the Ice's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Port Perry surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Mojacks have scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Port Perry additionally got points from Matt Murray, who also had one goal and one assist and Paul, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Port Perry also had goals scored by Kyler Challis, who had one and Lee Taylor, who had three. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Conner Shingler, who had three and Joe Lamanna, Ryan Nichols, and Ryan Beattie, who contributed one a piece. Georgina could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Ice put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Georgina also got a goal from Vito Jessop as well. More assists for Georgina came via Scott Sandercock and JP Contento, who each chipped in one. Port Perry incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Georgina incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
