Swift leads Caledonia over Listowel, 7-2

Jeff Swift was all over the ice for the Caledonia Corvairs, as he tallied one goal and four assists in Caledonia's 7-2 win over the Listowel Cyclones.

Swift got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 7:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. The Corvairs earned a power play opportunity when Mac Nichol was put in the box for high sticking. Brandon Montour provided the assist. Swift dished an assist on Adam Brady's goal that made the score 4-0 Caledonia at 16:07 into the first period. He then added assists on Marc Silvestri's goal at 17:24 into the first, on Montour's goal at 15:27 into the second, and on Montour's goal at 19:55 into the second.

Caledonia pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 68 penalty minutes.

The Corvairs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 14 chances. Caledonia surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Corvairs average 4.2 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Caledonia additionally got points from Connor Murphy, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Brady, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Montour, who also grabbed two goals and two assists. Caledonia also got a goal from Fabrizio Ricci as well. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Ryan Blunt, Spencer Gourlay, Tyler Norrie, Brendan Bomberry, and Matt Quilty, who each chipped in one.

Listowel was often in penalty trouble, totaling 10 minors and one major for 75 minutes in penalty time. The Cyclones surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Listowel forced Caledonia goalie Justis Husak to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

The Cyclones were led by Aaron Armstrong, who had one goal and one assist. Armstrong scored 12:55 into the second period to make the score 5-1 Caledonia. Nichol picked up the assist. Jacob Robitaille also scored for Listowel. More assists for Listowel came via Caleb Cameron and Kyle Shaw(APM), who contributed one a piece.

Husak rejected 36 shots on goal for the Corvairs. Caledonia registered three goals on 14 power play opportunities. For the Corvairs, Silvestri was ejected from the game. Listowel's starting goalie, Drew Reinhardt, made six saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Daniel Dekoning, who stopped 14 shots. Team's Dylan Sayles and Patrick Bell were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
