Stratford downs Waterloo in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Stratford Cullitons pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Waterloo Siskins on a clutch goal by Ryker Killins.

Stratford overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Cullitons fell behind 4-1 after a goal by Waterloo's Adam Campagnolo at 7:56 in the third period. Stratford tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Jonathan Langford at 19:08 in the third period.

Langford had a great game for the Cullitons, netting two goals.

Stratford's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Waterloo power plays.

Stratford additionally got points from Ryan Watson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Jake Ryan, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Liam Maaskant, Brett Heaman, Jared Culliton, Jeff McArdle, Mitch Vandergunst, and Andrew Barton, who contributed one a piece.

The Siskins forced the Cullitons goalie Nick Caldwell to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Waterloo was led by Ryan Doucette, who tallied one goal and two assists. Doucette scored short handed 1:59 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Waterloo. The Siskins were on a disadvantage when Christian Mroczkowski went off the ice for boarding. James Soper picked up the assist. Waterloo also got points from Campagnolo, who also had one goal and two assists. Jakub Jelen also scored for Waterloo. More assists for Waterloo came via Nik Knezic, Trevor Atkinson APJ, and Andrew Brubacher, who each chipped in one.

Caldwell recorded 27 saves for Stratford. The Cullitons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. PJ Bridges made 22 saves for Waterloo on 27 shots. The Siskins incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
