Huge game by Chudobiak boosts Thorold over Fort Erie, 7-4

The Thorold Blackhawks' Dan Chudobiak had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-4 win over the Fort Erie Meteors.

Chudobiak notched his first tally 6:15 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:45 into the third, at 14:53 into the third, and at 20:00 into the third.

Thorold kept Fort Erie's goalie busy throughout the game, and Connor Visca made 41 saves on 48 shots. The Blackhawks outdid their season average for goals scored. Thorold has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Thorold additionally got points from Tanner Hildbrant, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Thorold also got a goal from Chris Goulet as well. In addition, Thorold received assists from Nathan Granitto, who had two and Brian Brosnan, Kevin Lavoie, Joel Forestell, Owen Sobchak, and Mark Arnone, who each chipped in one.

The Meteors forced the Blackhawks goalie Vinny Merante to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Fort Erie was helped by Jesse Pereira, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Pereira scored on the power play 3:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Meteors had gotten the advantage when Thorold's Matthew Hoszko was sent off for hooking. Carson Johnstone picked up the assist. Fort Erie also got points from Johnstone, who also registered one goal and two assists and Nik Passero, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Andy Sturtz also scored for Fort Erie. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Austin Carroll, Braeden Kavaravtzis, and Richard DeMarco, who contributed one a piece.

Vinny Merante made 40 saves for the Blackhawks on 44 shots. Thorold incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Fort Erie incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
